It is designed for anglers who fish close to shore as well as at great distances from the shore. The reel is ideal for using baits, lures, and jigs without limitation on the type of fish being caught. The front drag reel is characterized by a beautiful appearance, but the main feature is its perfect equipment – an exceptionally strong cold-forged aluminum AR-C spool, HAGANE gear technology, X-Ship gear storage, 4 A-RB ball bearings, and one roller bearing. The carbon waterproof drag also performs perfectly, ensuring the angler has complete control over the fish's behavior, even when battling tough trophy specimens. Smaller models 5000 and 6000 use a gear ratio of 4.6:1 and a maximum drag force of 10 kg, while larger models 8000 and 10000 use a gear ratio of 4.9:1 and a maximum drag force of 12 kg. The large line retrieve per crank turn (78 – 102 cm depending on the model size) makes it easier to use when fishing at long distances. Shimano Socorro is available in four sizes (5000, 6000, 8000, and 10000), so every angler will surely find the right one for them. The reel is perfectly prepared to handle not only extraordinary casting distances but also fighting fish under extreme loads.
